High altitude climber, trailrunner, skitourer, occasional rockclimber, mountain lover and international mountain leader UIMLA.
I was born in 1977 in the beautiful Slovak mountains. From an early age, I was drawn to the mountains, which have accompanied me all my life. I studied graphic design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava and worked for a long time as a creative, designer, inventing and implementing advertising campaigns for the largest clients in Central Europe. However, I still felt a connection to the mountains, and knew somewhere deep in my heart that the mountains would be my path of my life. Already at the age of 18, I stood at the top of the highest mountain in the Alps - Mt. Blanc. Although for a long time I devoted myself primarily to school and work, I gradually began to spend more and more time in the mountains, and intuitively It kept puling me especially to the higher altitudes, mainly because of the complexity of the experience. I started doing sports actively, trail running, climbing in summer and winter, skiing and I participated in various, often a bit crazy trips in the Alps or our local Tatra mountains. Gradually, I moved to expeditions on 6, or 7,000-meter mountains in the Himalayas and in the Pamir. Long-term gaining of experience, and especially the fact that I survived it all in good health, finally led me to the highest mountains - eight thousand. My rock climbing anti-talent is not so much of a problem here, what becomes important is endurance, the willingness to endure long-term bad or repulsive conditions and the ability to acclimatize to the altitude. Two expeditions with a famous slovak altitude climber - Peter Hámor really poushed me forward. First on Manaslu and second Dhaulághiri, where I turned back on solo attempt 150 meters bellow summit at altitude 8000 meters. This was followed by the Karakoram period, where I attempted Gasherbrum I and Broad Peak, where in 2019 I stood on the Rocky Summit (8035 m). A strong desire to dedicate myself to the mountains fully and at work (meaning be there all the time) led me to mountain education - in 2022, I completed the three-year training of international UIMLA mountain leaders with the final exams. Years of my experience in the mountains of the whole world and, last but not least, education in international UIMLA standards are now available for you, whether on treks in the world's high mountains, world's high mountains, or on hikes and courses in our beloved High Tatras, or anywhere else.
